ISARLAT TOWER JAIPUR
Standing tall since 1749 AD, Isarlat was built by Sawai Ishwari Singh, the eldest son of the founder of Jaipur Sawai Jai Singh ll. Sri Sawai Maharaja Ishwari Singh was born in February 1722 or March 1721. He was the eldest son of Sawai Jai Singh ll of Jaipur. Sargasuli Tower in Jaipur was erected to commemorate the victory of Sawai Ishwari Singh over Sawai Madho Singh. Isarlat, popularly known as Sargasuli means passage to heaven because of its 140 ft height. Sargasuli is 7 stories high and was once the tallest building in pink city. Isarlat is built according to the principles of Rajpur and Mughal architecture. It was designed by Ganesh Khowan. Its circular staircases are built in such a way that ensures proper air and light in the whole tower. Isarlat which also served as a watch tower to guard the residence of the Royal family, City Palace now provides a breathtaking view of the city.
It could be viewed from Tripolia Bazar but Isarlat Swargasuli Tower is in Aatish Market. According to local legends, Ishwari Singh built the Isarlat to check on his minister who he doubted would conspire against him. Some others say that Sawai Ishwari Singh fell in love with the daughter of his top minister but could not marry her because she wasn’t from Royal lineage. Sawai Ishwari Singh would see her from the top of the Isarlat. However, most historians rule out any such claims.

Jaipur is the first planned city in India. Isarlat (Victory Piller) gives us a great opportunity to have a beautiful bird angel to look at the pink city. Victory Piller is known as Sargasuli. Sky penetrating victory tower means. It is in the middle of the pink city Near tripoliya gate. In 1749 Maharaja Ishwari Singh built it then known as Isarlat. 140 feet high tower gives us a great view of the pink city. Altogether we count it as seven stories.
At a distance of 5 km from Jaipur Junction Railway Station, Sargasuli Tower or Isar Lat is situated near the Tripolia Gate of City Palace in Jaipur. Sargasuli Tower is known as the Tower of Heaven. It was built in 1749 by King Ishwari Singh after his victory over Raja Madho Singh. This tower has been constructed following the rules of Vaastushaastra. It also severed as a watch tower for the palace. The Sargasuli Tower is the tallest historical building in Jaipur. This seven-story minaret was based on Qutub Minar and Kirti Stambha of Chittaurgarh. The dividers of the tower are composed of superb cross-section work which offers air and light to the whole structure. The entry to the tower is through a small door, entering by which visitors can see a beautiful round gallery that spirals upwards toward the mouth of the building.
