Surrounded by the Aravali, Chulgiri is a beautiful holy place for Jainese. There is a famous Jain temple of Digambara shrine perched on top of the North end of the Jhalana Range. The Chulgiri Jain temple is a popular sanctum place that originated in the year 1953. Jain Acharya Shri Desh Bhushan Ji Maharaj came to this vicinity and found it a very peaceful area for his penance. So, he selected this location for his mortification and after a few months, he decided to build a Jain temple over here and gave the name & Chulgiri to these hills. The peaceful and serene environment around awakens the religiosity in you. There are 11 temples on Chulgiri hill and 19 at the bottom. The Foundation of the Chulgiri Jain temple in Jaipur was a challenge in itself as it has been built amidst the Aravalli hills. The main temple is located on the hill, with 1000 steps. The amazement of the temple showed up in the year 1966 when three excellent sculptures made of white stone were propounded. These three statutes are of the 3 most popular Tirthankars, Shree Parshavnath, Mahaveer Swami, and Neminath. The year 1953 is entitled as the origination of the Jain temple on the hills of Aravalli. Jain Acharya Shri Desh Bhoosan ji Maharaj chose the Aravalli hills for building the Jain temple and named the hills ‘Chulgiri’ Building the Jain temple in the Aravalli hills was the greatest challenge in front of Jain Acharya ji, but as they say, nothing can be undone if the spirit is true. The amazement of the temple showed up the in the year 1966 with 7 feet high statue of the white stone of Lord Parshvnath which created a history in the pages of the state of Rajasthan. Chulgiri Jain temple was discovered in the year 1953 by Acharya Shri Desh Bhushan Ji. He visited this place in search of a peaceful place to practice meditation and finally chooses this place as the location of his introspection because of the beautiful serene environment and peaceful nature. Later he decided to build a Jain Temple, which was given the name “Chulgiri”. The temple is built in the midst of the Aravalli ranges, at the top of Chulgiri Hills, which is 1000 steps from the ground. Later the temple was renovated with 24 Tirthankar statues and a water tank to collect water for worship. It’s open early in the morning and closed at 8:30 at night. If you are planning to visit during night time then a motorbike is not advisable because wildlife also exists in the Aravali ranges and sometimes you find Panthers and other wild animal on the road, so our wheeler is advisable. There is a meal facility available at an economical price inside the Jain temple and you are not supposed to take any non-veg product inside the temple premises or nearby it and a mineral water facility is also available.
